The h did not act professionally, and I felt like a lot of it was not believable behavior by an esteemed pediatric oncologist.

I also struggled with the cancer part of it. I think I just never connected with any of the characters to get emotional with them. I'm not at all trying to say that that kind of event is not traumatic, but the way that it was all communicated to me as the reader didn't feel right for some reason. For example.there is a part where the h tells a story about her traumatic past she was almost raped by her step father and I was honestly tempted to skim because it didn't feel all that genuine to be honest. I felt like I was being told about their emotions instead of actually connecting with them and feeling it along with them.

I struggled with the fact that every character seemed to burst into tears at every turn. I am disappointed because it had the potential to be a heartfelt and moving story about a man going through a divorce with a young son that has cancer that falls in love with his doctor. I thought everything was very well written and that it all played out in the best possible way for all the characters involved in the story. There really wasn't any big sweep-her-off-her-feet moments, but that worked for these characters. Zack and Denise fell into a romance quickly and with ease.
